Troubleshooting

Before you connect
The server checks four things when you join. Get these right and most connection problems go away:
- Steam is running and signed in.
- The Discord desktop app is running and signed in to the account that's in the SVNL Discord, and that account has both roles: Verified, and FiveM from the game role selection.
- FiveM is signed in to your Rockstar account, so it can see your copy of GTA V, and to the Cfx.re account linked to your SVNL account.
- Your SVNL account on this website has both Discord and Cfx.re linked.
Start Steam and Discord first, then FiveM.
Connection messages
"Steam must be running to join this server"
Start Steam, sign in, then connect again. If it says Invalid Steam session detected, restart Steam.
"Please join our Discord server" or "discord connection doesnt exist"
The server couldn't find your Discord account.
- Join the SVNL Discord if you haven't.
- Make sure the Discord desktop app is open and signed in to that same account, then restart FiveM.
"Verify in our Discord before joining"
You're in the SVNL Discord but haven't verified. Verify there (that's where you agree to the Code of Conduct, the Terms and the Privacy Policy), then connect again.
"You need the FiveM role to join. In our Discord, pick FiveM in the game roles channel, then reconnect"
Pick FiveM in the SVNL Discord's game roles channel, then connect again. The server checks your roles afresh each time it turns you away, so there's no need to wait.
"Sign in to your Cfx.re account in FiveM, then reconnect."
FiveM isn't signed in to Cfx.re, so the server can't match you to your SVNL account. Sign in to Cfx.re in FiveM with the account linked to your SVNL account, then connect again.
"Make an account at svnlstudio.com.au and link your Discord and Cfx.re there, then reconnect."
The server couldn't find an SVNL account with your Discord account linked. Create an account on this website, then link both Discord and Cfx.re in account settings. Just linked? Give it a minute, then connect again.
"Link your Cfx.re account on svnlstudio.com.au (Account settings), then reconnect."
Your SVNL account has Discord linked but not Cfx.re. Link it in account settings, using the Cfx.re account you sign in to FiveM with.
"The Cfx.re account you're signed in to in FiveM isn't the one linked to your SVNL account. Sign in to the linked one, or change the link on svnlstudio.com.au."
Sign in to the linked Cfx.re account in FiveM, or unlink Cfx.re in account settings and link the one you play with.
"Discord verification is unavailable right now"
The server can't reach Discord at the moment. Try again in a few minutes.
"license connection doesnt exist" or "No Valid Rockstar License Found"
FiveM can't see your GTA V licence. Sign in to your Rockstar account in FiveM, then restart FiveM.
"Duplicate Rockstar License Found"
Your last session is still on the server, usually after a crash. Wait a minute, then connect again.
"You were already in queue, please reconnect"
Connect again.
"The server is locked for maintenance"
Staff are working on the server. The Discord has news. Try again later.
"Server restart in progress"
The server is about to restart. Connect again once it's back up.
A ban message
The message says why you were banned. See Reporting and appeals to appeal.
The queue
Everyone goes through the queue, even when the server is quiet. If you drop out by accident, connect again within 5 minutes and you're moved further up the queue.
In game
Missing textures or a world that won't load
Type /fixme and choose textures. Get out of your vehicle first. Your game world reloads.
Stuck somewhere
Type /fixme and choose unstuck, then hold for 20 seconds. It takes you to the airport, and you can use it once an hour.
Each /fixme use sends an alert to staff, so don't use it to get out of a scene.
Kicked for ping
The server removes you if your ping stays above 120 ms for 5 minutes. The message shows your ping when it happened.
You crashed
Rejoin within 10 minutes. Don't log off in the middle of a scene.
