Your first day

What you start with

• $500 in cash and $5,000 in the bank.
• A phone. Press M to open it.
• Your ID card, which is on your phone in the MyID app, not in your inventory.

You don't have a driver licence yet. See Licences below.

Your phone

You need a phone on you to use it. These apps matter on day one:

• SEEK: find and manage jobs.
• MyID: your ID card and licences.
• SVNL Bank: your bank account.
• Insurance: cover for your vehicles.

If you lose your phone, iFruit and Digital Den sell new ones.

Get a job

Open SEEK on your phone. You can hold up to 5 jobs, and joining these is instant:

Tim's T.A.M is the one job you can start straight away. After joining, set a job active in the Job Selector when you want to be on duty.

• Mining needs a pickaxe. Tim sells a Basic Pickaxe for $500 at the quarry.
• Fishing needs a rod. Philip Sherman at Lucky Fin sells a Basic Fishing Rod for $500.
• Post OP, HOBO and Jetsam lend you a work vehicle for free.

Police, ambulance and government jobs need an application through SEEK when they're hiring.

Licences

Driver licences

Go to the TMR driving school reception in Mirror Park. Each licence has a theory test (30 questions) and a practical test, and you need 80% in both. Fees come out of your bank.

When you pass, the licence goes straight to MyID.

Fishing licence

Get it at the Licence services counter at Brisbane, Paleto Bay or Sandy Shores City Hall. It costs $150 from your bank, and you need 80% on a 10-question test.

Money

Bank branches across the city have a banker you can talk to. ATMs need a bank card and a 4-digit PIN. A Standard Card costs $500 at a bank.

Food and water

Your watch shows hunger and thirst, and warns you when either drops to 25. Water runs out in about 2 hours and food in about 6. When either hits zero you start losing health.

24/7 Supermarkets sell water ($3) and sandwiches ($8).

If you go down

• For the first 30 seconds, another player can help you up.
• Hold Space to call EMS.
• After 5 minutes you can hold Enter to respawn at the nearest hospital. It's free, you keep your items, and your hunger and thirst are refilled.

After a respawn, the new life rule applies: forget how you died and stay away from that scene for 15 minutes. See rule 5.4 in the FiveM server rules.

The in-game guide

Press F2, or type /help, to open the guide in game.

Daily rewards

Play for 30 minutes to earn the day's reward. Then go to the front desk in the Brisbane City Courthouse and use the third eye (hold Left Alt) on the staff member there to collect it.
